Accessibility
The Law Society of England and Wales strives to make its web information accessible to people with disabilities in keeping with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
Technical standards
We intend to produce this website to conform with international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
If you require any of our information in another format, or help finding a document, please contact us.
Accessibility help
All our web pages have an invisible link at the top of the page that allows users with screen-reading software to skip directly to the main content.
There are several keyboard shortcuts ("accesskeys"):
- Alt+h, enter - go to home page
- Alt+c, enter - contact us
- Alt+a, enter - place an advert
- Alt+l, enter - links
- Alt+s, enter - search
- Alt+w, enter - Law Society website
Links to other pages in our website open in the same window. To return to the previous page, use the browser "back" button.
Links to external sites, and to downloadable Law Society documents open a new browser window. To return to the previous window, close the new window.
Adobe PDFs
Many Law Society documents are in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF). We are amending them; documents over five pages long will have a "live" table of contents, allowing users to jump directly to the page required. To return to the beginning of the document, press your keyboard's "home" key.
