Having noted the media interest and government response to the closing of some of the Tata steelworks leading to the loss of 1,170 jobs, it seems that the numbers game generates the most interest, countering the recent self-congratulatory back-slapping on employment/unemployment figures.

Would it not be possible for the Gazette to obtain figures of the total number of criminal defence solicitors who will be made redundant because of two-tier contracting being implemented, as a collective figure?
