The Ministry of Justice denies that the legal aid cuts have damaged the administration of justice. The only logical implication of this position is that lawyers have been contributing nothing positive to the legal system that cannot be readily replaced by other government measures.

As a family law solicitor helping people navigate financial settlement and child welfare issues in times of emotional crisis, I find that implication deeply offensive.
