Osteoporosis causes bones to become so porous that they can break very easily. It can lead to height loss and severe curvature of the spine. Almost one in two women and one in five men will break a bone, mainly due to osteoporosis. The National Osteoporosis Society is the only national charity dedicated to eradicating this painful and debilitating bone disease.

A gift in your will to the National Osteoporosis Society will help us in the UK to:

    • support people with osteoporosis and their families through our national telephone helpline staffed by specialist osteoporosis nurses (which receives over 13,000 calls for help every year). We also provide detailed information booklets, and a network of over 80 regional support groups.
    • raise awareness of osteoporosis within the general public and promote better bone health through improved diet and exercise.
    • fund vital research into causes, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
    • work with healthcare professionals to facilitate greater understanding of the needs of people with osteoporosis.
    • lobby on issues affecting people with osteoporosis including improved treatment options and patient care.

Osteoporosis can happen to anyone, but it is not an inevitable part of ageing. Every single donation enables us to carry on the fight against osteoporosis.
The National Osteoporosis Society receives no government or statutory funding. Please help us to make this a disease of the past. Thank you.
