“To give disabled and visually impaired people a real choice of holidays, provide vital breaks for carers and inspirational opportunities for volunteers”.
We believe that disabled people should have the same rights, freedoms, responsibilities and quality of life as those without disabilities.
We aim to meet the increasing expectations of people with disabilities, who want the same quality of service that we all expect.
More than 4,000 holiday breaks are provided each year at our three accessible holiday centres. 24-hour on-call care is provided by trained care and nursing staff, supported by residential volunteers. A full programme of accessible excursions, activities and entertainment is provided at each centre.
Each Vitalise break is subsided through our own fundraising efforts to make them as affordable as possible to all. Discretionary funding is also available to people in particular financial hardship. We receive no regular statutory funding and rely on income from voluntary sources – as well as thousands of volunteers – to continue our work.
In addition to our centre-based breaks, through our Vitalise Holidays operation, we open up more experiences to visually impaired people by organising group holidays in the UK and worldwide, accompanied by volunteer sighted guides.
Your donation or legacy gift will enable us to maintain and increase the opportunities we offer for people with disabilities and carers.
