At International Animal Rescue we do exactly what our name says: we save animals from suffering around the world. In India our clinics sterilise and vaccinate stray dogs and cats to regulate their numbers and protect them from disease. Our vets also treat cattle and wildlife.

IAR’s sanctuaries in India are home to hundreds of dancing bears that we have rescued from the streets. They live free from fear and pain in secure, forested enclosures. In 2009 we made animal welfare history by rescuing the last dancing bear in India.

In Indonesia our team rehabilitates slow lorises and macaques rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and orangutans whose treetop homes have been destroyed to make way for oil palm plantations. We are building a centre in Borneo where orangutans can be rehabilitated before being returned to protected areas of rainforest.

In Malta we rescue and rehabilitate migrating birds shot down by hunters and campaign for better legislation to protect wild and domestic animals across the EU.

We cannot continue this work without your help. Please consider becoming a regular supporter to help us save an animal’s life today or, if ever there is a good time for you to consider making a gift in your will, that would be a marvellous gesture to provide sanctuary for suffering animals in future.
