Over 5.4 million children and adults across the UK are affected by asthma; that’s one person in every five households who can’t take breathing for granted. Asthma is an underestimated condition which, though triggered by seemingly harmless things, can still be life-threatening. Every seven hours one person dies from their asthma.

Although treatments are available 5% of people affected by asthma either don’t respond to current treatments or their medicine exposes them to long-term side effects such as osteoporosis.
