British Kidney Patient Association
The British Kidney Patient Association is a well established charity working to improve the quality of life for adults and children with chronic kidney disease.
We provide support, information and financial assistance to patients and families at any stage of their disease – whether it’s needed just after receiving a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease or following kidney failure, when dialysis or transplantation is necessary.
Life with kidney disease is mentally and physically demanding; patients have to cope with changes in their health, numerous hospital visits, the effects on work and family life as well as associated financial issues.
How we help
- Grants The BKPA makes grants to individuals and families in times of need, helping with anything from domestic bills to college fees.
- Holidays We work hard to break the monotony of treatment for patients by offering support for holidays to adults and children who would otherwise be unable to go.
- Supporting kidney units The BKPA also works to help expand and improve kidney services and patient care in hospitals through the UK.
Raising funds
We hope that your clients might like to consider the British Kidney Patient Association in their wills through a legacy. This would be of enormous benefit to our charity and would help us in our support of many thousands of kidney patients. We rely totally upon the kindness and generosity of the public for our work as we receive no government funding.
