British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV)
Established in 1898, the BUAV works to create a world where nobody wants or believes we need to experiment on animals.
Through undercover investigations, political lobbying, the promotion of cruelty free products, legal and scientific expertise and media activities, the BUAV campaigns tirelessly and peacefully to end animal testing.
The BUAV Ltd works alongside its charitable arm, the BUAV Charitable Trust (formerly known as Animal Insight).
The BUAV Charitable Trust exists to: educate people about animal testing, research alternatives to animal testing, and to ensure that laws controlling animal tests are properly enforced, in the UK and the EU.
The BUAV receives no government or lottery funding and relies solely on the generosity of supporters to continue its work. Legacy gifts are especially vital, constituting over 50% of the BUAV’s total income. Our dedicated and experienced Legacy Officer provides a professional, sensitive and supportive service to Executors, extracting solicitors and bereaved family and friends.
