Christians Against Poverty (CAP)
Christians Against Poverty brings poverty relief and hope for the future to those in debt; one of the biggest causes of poverty in the UK today. CAP is a fast-growing national debt counselling charity that works in partnership with local churches across the UK to see thousands of lives transformed. Leaving a legacy to CAP will provide top quality debt counselling and practical support for clients in such a way that enables them to experience and respond to the love of Jesus.
Debt is having an enormous detrimental impact both on individual families and whole communities. It only takes a simple change of circumstance to cause a financial crisis, but the harsh truth is that the spiral of debt is much more difficult to get out of. The shocking reality is that one in four of CAP’s clients have either attempted or considered suicide as a result of their financial situation.
CAP does not pay anyone’s debts off for them, but negotiates with creditors and works with clients for the long term to see them debt free. CAP’s professional, indepth solution offers clients hope for the future, with 92% of our clients stating that our work is ‘life transforming’ or ‘a great help’.
CAP has helped over 45,000 people since it began in 1996 and now sees over 500 people come to know Jesus each year as a result of the work. CAP is providing the UK church with an effective and strategic tool to reach their communities but relies on the support of individuals to help make its vision of having a CAP Centre in every UK town a reality. Please join us in leaving a legacy to CAP, and seeing lives changed!
