“You helped me get my life back. In fact you saved it. I had never felt so low, but my life is my own again now.”

The advice that Citizens Advice Bureaux give can literally transform people’s lives, health and happiness. We come alongside our clients to help them resolve their problems and remove the anxiety that can be overwhelming.

However, we are not just here for times of crisis. We also use clients’ stories anonymously to campaign for policy changes that benefit millions of others.
At the heart of the service is an army of 21,500 volunteers. Our network of 380 bureaux makes face-to-face advice available from over 3,500 locations, including doctors’ surgeries, community centres, factories and shopping centres.
Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity and we depend on the generosity of the public to carry out our vital work.

For over 70 years the Citizens Advice service has provided free, confidential and impartial advice to everyone - regardless of background. As the UK’s largest advice provider, we are equipped to deal with any issue, ranging from debt and employment to housing and relationships. In fact nearly half the population has used our service at some point in their lives. In the last year alone we helped 2.1 million people to solve 7.1 million problems.
None of us live without problems, but some experience the most extreme of difficulties, and others feel unable to cope alone. With a Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in the community, everyone has somewhere to turn.
