Combat Stress is the leading charity specialising in the care of British Veterans who have been profoundly traumatised by harrowing experiences during their Service career. We help Veterans from the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy – from all ranks, conflicts and of all ages.

Combat Stress provides two integrated services to meet Veterans’ needs:

  • The Combat Stress 24-hour Helpline, 0800 138 1619 - Providing confidential help and advice on any mental health issues to the military community and their families.
  • Community outreach service, delivered by teams of Mental Health Practitioners, Community Psychiatric Nurses, and Regional Welfare Officers.
  • Specialist clinical treatment at three short-stay residential centres in Shropshire, Surrey and Ayrshire.
  • A Well-being and rehabilitation Programme.

Last year alone, we received over 1,400 new referrals, and are under constant pressure to meet an ever growing need for our unique help.

We look after Veterans of every campaign that British Forces have been involved in since the Second World War. This includes over 583 who served in Iraq and 228 who have served in Afghanistan.

Your gift, however small, will make a real difference to our life-saving work – and help us plan for tomorrow.
