We are a charity dedicated to training dogs in the detection and recognition of human disease by odour.

Cancer and Bio-detection Dogs
Our first study that was published in the British Medical Journal in 2004 showed that dogs can be trained to identify the odour of cancer within urine. This potentially unknown finding indicated the potential for a new method of diagnosing cancer which would be simple, quick and non-invasive. Clinicians and scientists are studying the data collected to help them in the development of an electronic nose.

MS is a cruel, life-long condition. It is most often diagnosed in young people in their twenties and thirties, just as they are making life choices about relationships, careers and having their own families. The impact of that diagnosis is terrifying. It can take away the ability to plan and can mean loss of independence, severe disability and isolation.

As children, most of us take for granted the chance to get out and about, exploring, climbing trees, visiting the park and hanging out with friends. For our children, and grandchildren, we expect nothing less, but for many with a special need, it just isn’t possible. If you have a physical disability, the difficulties are obvious, but, if you have a learning disability or autism, it may be hard to relate to other people and join their games.
