Elisabeth Svendsen Trust For Children And Donkeys, The

At the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys, (EST), we are able to provide unique and beneficial riding therapy to children with special needs and disabilities with the help of our gentle donkeys.

We have five riding centres based in Birmingham, Ivybridge, Leeds, Manchester and Sidmouth where our qualified riding instructors are able to teach new and fun learning skills to these children in a safe and caring environment.

The donkeys have proved to us time and time again that they can have a great influence over these children.  The donkeys are able to increase the children’s motivation, confidence and self esteem and for many, the act of riding also improves their balance and dexterity.

Up to 150 children attend each of our centres every week, and we make no charge to the schools, hospitals or parents of these children. We receive no government aid and rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters.
