Henshaws Society for Blind People
Legacies are fundamental to why Henshaws is here today. Our foundation is embedded in the generosity of Manchester based businessman, Thomas Henshaw whose £20,000 legacy in 1873 began over 170 years of support for blind and visually impaired people of all ages.
We are now the UK’s oldest blind charity that delivers services which provide specialist expert support, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss and because sight loss and disability affects family, friends and colleagues, we work with them too. However, these services constantly need funding in order to continue. Without your generous support these services would not survive. There are so many ways you can help us raise much needed funds for our vital work, and however you choose to help us, we thank you for your support.
Henshaws has supported and helped thousands of blind and visually impaired people since its inception. We are proud of our long and distinguished services and programmes to people who all have one common goal: to live an ordinary, independent and fulfilling life. Please, if you can, help us to help them.
