There are more than 1,000 children in the South West who suffer from conditions
that mean they will die before they reach adulthood. Conditions such as heart
disease and organ failure, muscular dystrophy, cancer and cystic fibrosis. Children
who suffer in this way need very specialised care during their short and precious
lives, care which our dedicated children’s hospices lovingly provide.

Friends of Michael Sobell House support the work of Michael Sobell Hospice based in Northwood, Middlesex. We provide funding over and above that provided by the NHS enabling services to be enhanced and expanded. The Hospice has been providing specialist palliative services for 35 years to patients across a very large region, facing life-limiting illnesses.
We focus on improving the quality of people’s lives, promoting physical and psychological comfort through a diverse set of complementary disciplines.

At Guy’s & St Thomas’ and the Evelina Children’s Hospital, donations from our patients and their families are helping us to save more lives every day.

Lewis-Manning Hospice provides the highest quality supportive palliative care to adults with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses across East Dorset for free.
2012 was the hospice’s 20th anniversary and to celebrate they opened a brand new state of the art facility with beautiful views across Poole Harbour.

Martin House opened in 1987 to provide family-led care for children and young people with life limiting conditions. We share with families the care of their child and offer respite care, symptom control, emergency and terminal care at Martin House or in the family home. Care is offered to any family with a child or children with a life threatening illness. We welcome all the family, giving them a break together or time to themselves in a comfortable home from home atmosphere. It is a place of love and understanding, of fun, laughter and friendship – where parents can have a full night’s sleep and recharge their batteries.

The National Brain Appeal* is the charity dedicated to raising funds for The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Over the last ten years The National Brain Appeal has raised more than £15 million for cutting edge equipment and research. Ten million people in the UK suffer from a neurological disorder, either from birth, through injury, or a slowly developing illness that occurs later in life. The National is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis (MS), brain cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, stroke, Alzheimer's disease and head injury.

Severn Hospice’s caring teams have been providing expert end of life support to people living across Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales since 1989. In that time we have cared for more than 19,400 people living with terminal illnesses such as cancer.

Saint Francis Hospice is an independent charity that provides the very best in specialist care for local people with life-limiting illnesses living in the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and Brentwood. Every year, the hospice provides treatment, care and help to more than 3000 people affected by life limiting illnesses.
