International Glaucoma Association
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness in the UK. Around 2% of people over the age of 40 suffer from glaucoma. Unfortunately, many people are unaware of the risk of glaucoma, which can often have no symptoms. Up to one in 50 people are losing sight every day as a result of the condition.
The International Glaucoma Association (IGA) is the leading charity in the UK, solely dedicated to fighting glaucoma. Every day our Sightline staff reassure and advise glaucoma sufferers, providing detailed information about the condition.
The IGA provides one of the world’s most comprehensive patient guides to glaucoma free of charge and is widely recognised world-wide as an authority on the condition.
The IGA also increases awareness of glaucoma and supports considerable research into the condition. Each year a national awareness week is held, which builds awareness and communicates the need to seek the three tests necessary to detect the condition at an early stage. Your support will save sight.
Thank you.
