Jewish Care
Jewish Care is the largest provider of health and social care services for the Jewish community in the United Kingdom.
It was created in 1990 by the merger of the Jewish Welfare Board and Jewish Blind Society. A total of nine organisations now fall under the umbrella of Jewish Care and we work in partnership with a further two.
Our 1000 dedicated staff and 2500 volunteers help more than 7,000 people every week, working across the community to deliver culturally sensitive services in a professional way to meet the individual needs of our clients.
Jewish Care Direct, on 020 8922 2222 provides a single entry point to access all of Jewish Care’s services. We help older people, people with physical or sensory disabilities, people with mental health needs, and those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. We offer care and support through our care homes, day centres, home care service and sheltered housing scheme. We provide support for carers and their families, as well as bereaved and recently separated people. Jewish Care also offers a specialist centre for Holocaust survivors and refugees.
Jewish Care’s continuing ability to provide these services relies heavily on voluntary donations and legacies. Over £15m needs to be raised every year to maintain delivery of these essential services.
