Leonard Cheshire Disability is the leading charity supporting disabled people in the UK. Independence and choice are at the heart of everything we do. More than anything else in the world today, disabled people want to be active and independent, to make their own choices and take control of their lives. Our work is to help them to achieve that aim.

We operate a wide range of over 200 services, which include:

  • Residential and nursing care homes
  • Rehabilitation for those with acquired brain injuries
  • Supported living schemes with 24-hour back-up support.
  • Day Centres helping people to socialise and develop a range of new skills.
  • Respite care enabling carers to enjoy a break.
  • Innovative projects pioneering new technology.
  • Campaigning to break down the social barriers that prevent disabled people from living independent lives.
  • We also work in 54 countries worldwide, enabling disabled children to access local schools and developing employment opportunities for disabled people.

What difference can a single gift make?

Each gift, no matter how small, will help disabled people to live the way they want with choice and independence.

96p of every £1 is spent directly on our services to disabled people.
