Around 4,000 people get mouth cancer each year, and half will die from it. This is more than the number that die from cervical cancer or melanoma, and 80% of people could have been saved by earlier detection. Despite this, facial cancer research receives much less funding than other types. The FSRF aims to raise public awareness of facial diseases and disorders, and attract long overdue funding for research.
