Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind
NRSB is a local charity, which aims to promote greater independence for vision impaired people of all ages throughout Nottinghamshire by providing support, advice, information and rehabilitative activities.
NRSB’s youth groups give vision impaired children the opportunity to take part in activities that are adapted to meet their needs and more importantly gives them an opportunity to meet children in similar circumstances.
The youth groups also provide a network for parents to share the experiences and problems they face in bringing up a vision impaired child and provide opportunities to overcome some of these obstacles.
NRSB’s adult services include a computer group, mobile and central resource units that provide access to vision impairment aids and equipment as well as offering support and advice to service users, carers and professionals on all vision impairment issues. Our home visiting scheme places appropriately trained volunteers with vision impaired people who are particularly isolated, lacking in confidence and general social contact.
NRSB offers support to service users from the time of diagnosis through to rehabilitation, daily living, mobility training and ongoing development.
A gift in your will to Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind will help future generations of blind and partially sighted people to realise their true potential.
