Age UK Bournemouth works for the benefit of older people in Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset. It provides a range of services including information and advice; day services; activities and trips; footcare; support to help people dealing with crises in their lives; and a befriending service to help alleviate loneliness and isolation. Whilst it is a partner of the national charity ‘Age UK’ the charity is independent and responsible for raising its own funds which are all applied for the benefit of local people.

Age UK Camden’s mission is: ‘to work with and for older people in and around Camden to improve their lives’. The organisation is responsible for raising all of its own funds and during this time of far reaching funding cuts must rely more and more on donations and legacies to continue to support vulnerable and often isolated older people.

For many years Age UK London has been helped in its work supporting and voicing the issues that impact on our older people’s lives through the generosity of donors who have remembered us in their wills.
Leaving us such a gift, however large or small, is the most important way of ensuring that we will be able to continue our work for older people living in the capital.
If we don’t work now for the rights and needs of older people who live in London, younger generations will still be trying to secure a brighter future for themselves and their families as they age.

Some support when life gets difficult doesn’t seem like a lot to ask. But for older people who live on a low income, sometimes that support really isn’t there. The National Benevolent Fund for the Aged was founded to provide direct, practical assistance to older people on low incomes across the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. We receive no Government funding and rely entirely on our generous donors and volunteers to support our work.

We have been serving older Christians since 1807. Then we supported them with money and practical gifts, and always with spiritual encouragement. Today we help with residential and nursing care, including dementia care, and various levels of sheltered housing – and always with spiritual encouragement. We also share our experience and expertise with seminars, talks, and publications. In every one of our homes there is at least one person who has outlived their friends, family, and even their church fellowship.
