Making a difference – Technology Challenging Poverty

Practical Action makes a real difference. From helping people to access food, clean water, sanitation, housing, and energy to improving livelihoods, helping them to adapt to climate change and prepare for natural disasters.

Founded over 40 years ago by radical economist and author of Small is Beautiful, Dr E F Schumacher, Practical Action works hand in hand with local people in 13 of the poorest countries in the world, building on their skills to create simple, innovative and long term solutions to poverty. Using appropriate technologies, we ensure that all our projects are sustainable, use local materials and are managed by local communities, empowering them to help themselves.

By leaving a legacy to Practical Action you can make a difference and help us help more families in desperate need across the world, spreading our technologies further and helping more communities. For further information and for our free guide to making or changing your Will, please phone or write to Mary Harwood, our Legacy Officer, at the above address. Thank you.
