Since it began broadcasting on MW to the London area in June 1995, Premier has become a distinctive and respected Christian voice in broadcasting, reaching approximately 500,000 listeners weekly across the UK.
Premier broadcasts 24/7 on MW and using the latest digital technologies: nationwide on DAB, Freeview channel 725 and worldwide through www.premier.org.uk. Premier also brings the best of Christian programming to viewers via Premier TV.
In September 2009 Premier secured a national DAB licence taking Christian radio to any household in the country that has a digital radio. In February 2010 Premier Gospel was launched on DAB digital radio in the London area.
Premier’s programming offers a unique mix of music, news, Christian teaching, discussion and comment on the key issues of today’s world, bringing a topical biblical perspective to an audience that spans all denominations and the non-Christian public.
Premier’s commitment to the community includes its confidential helpline Premier Lifeline, which offers emotional and spiritual support for callers in need of a listening ear and prayer. Staffed from 9am to midnight daily, Lifeline takes around 1,000 calls every week; nearly 900,000 calls since its launch in 1995.
Premier Christian Radio depends on the support of many loyal individuals who give regular donations or one-off gifts. It is committed to remaining at the cutting edge of broadcasting, and legacy income is key to the continuation of Premier’s ministry to keep the Christian voice strong for future generations.
