209015 (England & Wales) SPANA (Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad) examines and treats around 400,000 working animals each year via its network of 19 animal hospitals and 16 mobile clinics throughout North Africa and the Middle East.
Often subjected to thoughtless mistreatment and abuse; donkeys, horses and mules are central to the survival of many millions of people living in poverty.
Our unique education programme challenges negative and ingrained attitudes towards working animals and teaches children and owners about the importance of giving these animals the care and respect they deserve.
