Sussex Wildlife Trust
The Sussex Wildlife Trust is the largest voluntary organisation devoted to nature conservation in Sussex. With more than 33,000 members, the Trust owns or manages nearly 5,000 acres of land in 33 nature reserves.
Some of the finest wild places in Sussex, these nature reserves include ancient woodlands, heathlands, downlands, reedbeds, grazing marshes and coastal sites. The Trust advises and works with landowners, local communities, schools and individuals on how to manage rural and urban areas of Sussex. It is also an important information centre for habitat, wildlife and conservation issues in Sussex. Each year more than 20,000 children and young people spend a day with the Trust learning about nature. The Trust runs an active programme of events and courses. A legacy to the Sussex Wildlife Trust will improve the countryside for the benefit of wildlife in Sussex and the enjoyment of future generations.
