Target Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is the most fatal of all gynaecological cancers and each day in the UK we lose 12 women to the disease.

Target Ovarian Cancer is dedicated to achieving a long and good life for every woman with ovarian cancer.

We know if detected early, 90% of women could survive but most women are diagnosed with late-stage disease. There are recognisable symptoms of ovarian cancer, but too few know what these are.

• We want all GPs to be able to spot the signs quickly.

Only 4% of British women think they can name one symptom - persistent swollen or painful tummy, loss of appetite or feeling full quickly.

• We aim to inform one million women about symptoms in the next five years.

Ovarian cancer often recurs and treatment tends to require an unusually high amount of time in hospital and extensive surgery.

• We want to offer practical and emotional support to every woman with ovarian cancer.

There have been no new treatments for ovarian cancer in over a generation.

We need to make sure that researchers have the funding they need to develop life-saving new treatments. Your legacy will help improve the quality of life of thousands of women with ovarian cancer.
