Woodside Animal Centre RSPCA Leicestershire Branch
Woodside Animal Centre is run by the Leicestershire Branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and has been based at Scudamore road for 37 years.
Our mission is to promote animal welfare and alleviate unnecessary suffering through education and direct intervention and support.
Woodside provides licensed facilities in which to care for animals brought to the centre, be they strays, unwanted pets or victims of cruelty. We re-home (or return to the wild) and rehabilitate where possible all animals brought to the centre. We also educate the public regarding responsible pet ownership.
Approximately 3500 animals are cared for each year at a cost of £14,000 per week; over £2500 of this is for veterinary fees.
Woodside Animal Centre is completely self financing. We receive no money from the government, lottery or national society. Our only income comes from the generosity of our supporters and the people of Leicestershire who support our fundraising efforts.
If you would like to leave a bequest to the Branch to enable it to continue its work within Leicestershire, please ensure that the correct information is given. Bequests made to the RSPCA will be used by the Society’s headquarters: only bequests made to the ‘RSPCA Leicestershire Branch’ or ‘Woodside Animal Centre’ will reach us.
