Wording for Distance Selling Regulations
Monday 30 April 2012
Do you have any precedent wording we can put in our client care letters regarding the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 (the regulations)?
Yes, if you have not met the client, you must consider whether the regulations apply. The regulations provide for a period during which the client can cancel their instructions without cost. You should include information about this right in your terms of business. There is example wording in our Client Care Letters practice note. For further information on the requirements of the regulations see The Office of Fair Trading.
