I read with interest your leader of 13 July. As you rightly note, the ranks of lawyers are disproportionately skewed towards people with degrees in arts and social sciences. At the same time, technology is becoming increasingly important in our daily lives, and most companies and organisations rely on IT for the day-to-day running of their operations.

When things go wrong it can have disastrous consequences and even lead to the failure of a business.

With this in mind, I have recently founded DLM Partners, a new concept for solving IT disputes, which brings together experts from both the law and IT to combine legal experience and technical expertise. Some solicitors, a happy few, enjoy the technical complexity and challenges of IT litigation.
