Solicitor Emma Batten has joined the growing employment team in the Leicester office of the Law firm Freeth Cartwright.
Emma joins the team, ranked as a regional leader by the Legal 500 guide to law firms, from Prettys in Chelmsford. She graduated with a law degree at Nottingham Trent University and completed her legal practice course at Nottingham Law School.
Experienced in all aspects of employment tribunal litigation, including cases relating to redundancy, unfair dismissal and discrimination, Emma also provides employment advice to HR teams on day-to-day employment issues.

Scott Pearman is now Associate at Conyers Dill & Pearman. Scott Pearman was previously Associate at Ely Place Chambers in London.

Scott joins Conyers from Ely Place Chambers in London, where he was a barrister for 13 years specialising in commercial litigation. Scott provides advocacy and advice on all aspects of civil and commercial law, with a focus on dispute resolution relating to business and commerce, insurance and reinsurance, trust and chancery, employment and discrimination, arbitration, and the law relating to media and information. Scott has particular expertise in financial misselling and professional negligence cases relating to investments, financial advisors and financial institutions. He has considerable experience in applications for interlocutory and injunctive relief including worldwide freezing orders, search and seizure orders, breach of confidence, breach of restrictive covenants and “springboard” relief arising from business theft and unlawful competition.

Nicola Boyle is now Partner at Hausfeld & Co LLP. Nicola Boyle was previously Senior Associate.

Hausfeld & Co LLP is delighted to announce that it has elected Nicola Boyle to Partnership, effective as of 1st February 2012. This move follows the hire of two additional associates in September 2011 and the recent hire of mid-level associate Samuel Manok-Sanoian. Samuel had most recently been working with Appleby in Jersey. This brings the legal team in London to 12, including four partners (named partner Michael Hausfeld, managing partner Anthony Maton, Lianne Craig, and Nicola Boyle), plus Washington DC partner Andrew Bullion, who is English qualified and on long term secondment to Hausfeld & Co.

The move is made in recognition of what Hausfeld considers the successful establishment of its premier competition litigation practice and continued move into other areas of litigation, including consumer, human rights, financial services and other commercial litigation.

Debbie Grennan is now part of the new Employment Team at Guildhall Chambers. Debbie Grennan was previously at Queen Square.

Having had a background in commerce for over 10 years prior to joining the Bar, Debbie is known for her pro-active, commercial and pragmatic approach to her work. She has practised exclusively in employment law since 2001, having a balance of Claimant and Respondent work which covers all aspects of employment and employment-related issues, as well as trade union law. Debbie appears regularly in Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal and in related civil proceedings. She receives regular instructions from a number of high profile Respondent clients, including local authorities, police authorities, NHS Trusts, schools and clearing banks. She also advises a number of public and private sector bodies as to the impact of TUPE, particularly in contracting-out situations.

Neil Clark is now Mental Health Specialist Associate at McGanns Law Northampton . Neil Clark was previously Sole Practioner at Neil Clark & Co.

Victoria Notman is now Solicitor, employment at Raworths of Harrogate.

Victoria Notman is originally from Cumbria and studied law at the University of Birmingham and Chester College of Law before training at leading Birmingham law firm, Wragge & Co. She has also worked at international law firm, Pinsent Mason and UK top 50 law firm, Mills & Reeve in Birmingham.

She has specialised throughout her career in employment law issues and has advised a broad range of clients including major blue chip corporations, NHS Trusts, SMEs, charitable organisations and individuals. She has worked extensively in the healthcare sector and includes amongst her expert knowledge a degree in physiotherapy. She has proved a successful advocate in employment law tribunals where she has a wealth of experience and expertise.

Emmanuelle Behr is now partner at French law firm REDLINK.

She advises on litigation and contractual matters in the areas of business law and IT/IP. She is specialized on matters pertaining to product manufacturing and distribution, antitrust and e-commerce. She has been working in the distribution and litigation department headed by Frédéric Fournier since the founding of Redlink and earlier. Prior to joining the firm in 2007 as senior associate, Emmanuelle Behr worked in the French TV network Canal+ (2001) and later on, joined the IT and business law department of SCP DDG (2003-2007), where she focused both on advice and litigation.

Laurence Pritchard is now Partner and Head of competition law at Weightmans LLP. Laurence Pritchard was previously Partner at DWF.

Laurence is a leading expert in competition law, recommended in the UK’s legal directories, he is a previous winner of ‘Lawyer of the Year’ at the North West Insider Awards.

Nick Smith is now Head of the new Employment Team at Guildhall Chambers. Nick Smith was previously at Queen Square, Bristol.

Nick brings 20 years of experience as an employment tribunal advocate. He has a nationwide practice in the fields of employment, discrimination law and regulatory/internal disciplinary matters.

Nick has extensive experience in the public sector and has acted for a vast range of local authorities, NHS trusts and Government departments. Additional clients have included airlines, clearing banks, petrochemical conglomerates, global car manufacturers, international telecoms providers, Premiership and non Premiership football clubs in addition to SMEs.

Rebecca Wherlock is now Associate at F.Haskins & Co. Rebecca Wherlock was previously Partner at Follett Stock LLP.

Felicity Haskins needs no introduction as a family law expert. The team at F Haskins & Co has a wealth of experience and an esteemed reputation. The team is further enhanced by Solicitor Rebecca Wherlock who previously practised in England under her maiden name Gurgul. Rebecca is training to become a Guernsey Advocate.
