Partner hire: Richard Ellison at SGH Martineau

Richard Ellison is now Partner, Disputes Resolution Group at SGH Martineau. Richard Ellison was previously Head of Mortgage Litigation at Shoosmiths.

Richard brings with him more than 20 years experience of mortgage related and general banking litigation with extensive experience in professional negligence, fraud, undue influence, PPI, Breach of Mandate and Defended Guarantees. He is also well versed in alternative disputes resolution and in particular mediation.

Working with clearing banks, overseas-based banks, building societies, specialist mortgage lenders and other financial institutions, Richard joins SGH Martineau from Shoosmiths where he was Head of the Mortgage Litigation Team. Prior to Shoosmiths, Richard launched the Finance Litigation practice at Wragge & Co.

Richard's appointment is a strategic move by the firm to strengthen the Birmingham arm of the firm's DRG team, co-led by partners Andrew Adams and David Bailey, who also runs the firm's Finance & Services to Lenders Group.
