Direct Payment of Housing Benefits to Landlords

Wednesday 05 February 1986

We act for an association of property owners. We have on a number of occasions been asked to advise members about claims made by the local authority for repayment of housing benefits where these benefits have been paid originally by the local authority direct to our clients (with the tenant's agreement). These claims by the local authority give rise to the questions of interpretation of Housing Benefit Regulations 1985. We should like to make contact to compare notes with other solicitors who have been involved in claims made by local authorities in these circumstances.
