Slowly but surely, lawyers are getting the hang of this public protest lark. Obiter counted at least 200 solicitors with a fetching collection of placards outside Manchester Crown Court last week. Someone had even brought along a generator to run the PA system.

Alas, just as the event was about to start, it ran out of fuel. Cue mad dash with a container conforming to the Petroleum (Consolidation) Regulations 2014 to a (fortunately) adjacent garage. Suitably replenished, the rally went off without further hitch.
