New Law Society president Lucy Scott-Moncrieff was among the marchers at World Pride 2012 in London last weekend. The event saw the legal sector continue its tradition of marching together for equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people around the world. Members of the Law Society, Bar Council, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Interlaw Diversity Forum, Bar Lesbian and Gay Group and the Junior Lawyers Division all attended.
This year they were promoting the message ‘Lawyers for Equal Marriage’. About 25,000 people took part in the march overall. There was a party in Trafalgar Square with performances from Boy George and R&B singer Deborah Cox.
