Four senior promotions have been announced at Nottingham’s Nelsons Solicitors in the firm’s wills and probate, investment management and family teams.

Renowned family law specialist Kelvin Henderson (pictured, left) has been promoted to partner at the firm alongside independent financial adviser Andy Hammond, who also steps up into the role of partner.

Kelvin, who joined Nelsons in 2013 and specialises in separation, divorce, international divorce and prenuptial agreements said: ‘I joined Nelsons when I decided to return to my roots in Nottingham, where I started my legal career more than 30 years ago.

‘I’m delighted that the firm has decided to promote me to a partner, as it shows appreciation for my dedication and hard work which I offer to our clients.’

Andy (pictured, second left) joined Nelsons in 2013 and was swiftly promoted to the firm’s head of investment management. He specialises in providing independent financial advice and advising on individual pension and retirement schemes.

He said: ‘My promotion coincides with an exciting period of growth for the team, as we continue to expand through the appointment of new staff.

‘I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last three years since I joined Nelsons, helping to strengthen the specialist services we offer to our investment management clients and being part of the continued successes of the firm.’

Phil Terry (pictured, second right), who is also part of the investment management team and specialises in trust, personal and private client investment, has been promoted to associate. He is currently working towards chartered financial planner status.

Phil said: ‘It’s very rewarding to be recognised for the hard work and commitment I’ve demonstrated at Nelsons since I joined the firm, with this promotion to associate.

‘We’ve seen substantial growth in our department over the time I have been with the firm. As a result, we’ve developed and broadened the areas of advice which we can offer clients.’

Craig Staten-Spencer (pictured, right) has also been promoted to associate, in the firm’s wills, trusts and probate team. He joined Nelsons in 2011, specialising in personal injury trusts, trust administration, Court of Protection and the creation and administration of charities.

Craig said: ‘I am very grateful for the trust that Nelsons has shown in me through this promotion and I am looking forward to further developing our Court of Protection and trust practice.’
