Chris Vaughan has been appointed to the role of general counsel and company secretary at Whitbread, taking over from Simon Barratt who is retiring from this position after 18 years.  

Chris was previously general counsel and chief corporate officer at Balfour Beatty, where he has been since 2007. Prior to that he held senior legal positions at SABMiller and Six Continents (now InterContinental Hotels Group), having originally qualified as a solicitor at Freshfields.
