Fraser Brown has appointed three new solicitors to various positions and departments across the firm.

Both Richard Brackenbury (pictured, above second left) and Kirstin Thompson (pictured, above left) join from Shakespeares. Richard will be a consultant solicitor based in the dispute resolution department in the Nottingham office.

Kirstin joins as an associate solicitor based at the firm’s Bingham office in the wills and probate department. Chris Chan also recently joined the firm’s dispute resolution team as a newly qualified solicitor from Forbes in Leeds.

Richard specialises in construction and property litigation and in his 30 years’ experience, has acted for owners, developers, contractors, professionals and banks. He handles all aspects of litigation, including mediation, adjudication and arbitration.

With almost 10 years’ experience, Kirstin brings with her a wealth of knowledge. She will work across the board; from drafting wills, administration of estates, preparing and registering lasting powers of attorney, tax planning and administration of trusts. Kirstin also has particular expertise in charity law and advising not for profit organisations.

Chris Chan completed his training contract with a Manchester law firm in 2013 and has since been working at Forbes in Leeds, specialising in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution. He is from Nottingham originally so has returned to the city to pursue his career.

Patrick Wood (pictured, above right), managing partner at Fraser Brown, said: ‘All three new appointments help strengthen the firm. It is great to have someone with Richard’s experience and local reputation on board, and construction is an interesting new area for us to expand into.

‘I am sure Richard, Kirstin and Chris will all fit in and have great futures at Fraser Brown.’
