Norton Rose Fulbright has announced that David Navetta and Boris Segalis, recognised leaders in cybersecurity, privacy and data protection law, have joined as partners.

Both partners join from InfoLawGroup LLP, where Navetta was a founding partner and Segalis (pictured) led its New York office. Together they helped the firm become ranked by Chambers USA as one of the nation’s leading law firms for privacy and data security in 2013 and 2014.

Segalis will join Norton Rose Fulbright’s New York office, while Navetta will practise out of its Denver office.

Navetta has significant experience handling issues in technology, privacy, information security, e-commerce and intellectual property law. His work ranges from compliance and transactional matters to breach notification, regulatory response and litigation. Segalis represents companies in a broad range of industries, including technology, pharma, consumer products, utilities and payment processing.

Navetta and Segalis will co-chair the US group of Norton Rose Fulbright’s global data protection and privacy practice. This group will focus on cutting-edge legal issues that arise from global economy’s exponentially growing reliance on information and critical infrastructure.

The group will address cybersecurity strategy and compliance, consumer and employee privacy and data protection, big data, data and infrastructure breach preparedness and response, regulatory investigations and litigation.
