Am I alone in becoming concerned at the delicate flowers our matrimonial lawyers are becoming?

Hardly a day passes in my office in which we do not get a letter from another side expressing ‘utter dismay’, ‘complete incredulity’ and ‘extreme concern’ about the pretty average things people do when a marriage breaks down, coupled with threats to take draconian steps within an unworkable timescale if our client’s heinous transgressions are not immediately purged (whether or not the allegations have been checked for accuracy).

While we might smile, most of our clients wonder how the person they knew has suddenly become so easily alarmed, and correspondence of this tenor serves only to rack up costs and further damage the potential for the parties to parent their children civilly together in the future.
