I once met Melvyn Belli in his offices on Montgomery Street, San Francisco. I am not sure that US ethics are the same as ours, well as ours once were anyway. Legless accident victims dragging themselves into court unaided, witnesses paid to disappear until a trial was over, not what we would expect to see, but that's the Wild West.
