I never seem to see anything discussing how to reduce surveyor's fees (I suppose I am ignoring the famous "Purple Bricks" here) which are nearly always vastly more than the legal fees and their part of the job can usually be done by anyone, not requiring any qualifications. I must admit that hardly a day goes by when I don't wonder why I bothered to waste 7 years of my life getting professional qualifications (let alone decades of PQE) - they seem to be a hindrance these days...much better to not have a clue what you are doing, but instead to have strong and unshakeable opinions about a vast range of things you know nothing about...

I don't think they know what blockchain is.

Not least of all because I do not believe that there are more than 5 people on the planet who really know what blockchain is.

On the assumption blockchain will not reduce the risk of clients suing lawyers for failure to advise their house had an avocado bathroom suite I can't see it making much of a dent in the (relatively modest) legal costs of a conveyancing transaction.

The "super" regulator - the one you have to have at the top because there are so many other regulators tripping and falling over each other, contradicting what each other says and coming out with new ideas or punishments every day of the week, that the "super" regulator has to keep herding all of these cats together so that they all make sense - but they still don't.

So 200 law firms are using blockchain? I'm struggling to believe that. Is it the function of the uber-regulator to activate for the use of technology about which many are - understandably - uncertain and suspicious?

I have absolutely no idea how block chain has any application in the legal industry other than securing data. I am no wiser having gone through the source material.
