This is not a business model, just a fancy way of packaging something solicitors do already.

This seems to be a re hash of a very old scheme involving a connect 2 other firms. From memory, and I could be mistaken, the originator is no longer existing.

    It isn’t news

It is fascinating that old ideas are always new to somebody - even if they are only at LSG.

To add to the comments below I was in such a scheme many years ago referring potential clients to appropriate lawyers, not only in the UK but abroad as well.

I think firms have been doing this for many years now.

@Jeffery Shaw - my experience is that not all lawyers are actively referring their clients elsewhere when unable to help the client themselves.
I have 16 years of managing this type of referral arrangement between law firms, ensuring that the firms who refer work are reassured that their client will be looked after.
We offer a written non-solicitation agreement, fee share is offered to those firms who would like it (and regardless of views on fee share/referral fees, the SRA does currently allow it) and we also support the firms in our network in in other ways.
There are other similar networks operating very successfully so this is not unique, but we do work hard to collaborate with the firms who are part of our network.

Why is this a lead story or in fact even in the LSG apart from free publicity for the firm concerned?
As the person below says we are all doing this anyway.
How does the LSG not know this and thinks this is something new to report on?

But don't all solicitors already refer potential clients who seek work beyond the solicitors' practice areas? What does a 'network' add to this?
