Obiter has long been aware that solicitors take particular interest in perusing the Gazette’s SDT pages while tucking into their lunchtime sandwich. It is, of course, an important part of one’s professional duty to check that colleagues in the next door office have not been getting on the wrong side of the profession’s regulator without letting on. However, this column recently received an enquiry from one reader asking why ‘all the gory details’ of SDT proceedings are no longer featured in the Gazette. He recalls one particular favourite from days gone by, which simply said that solicitor X had been ‘struck off… for murdering his wife’. In response to our correspondent’s query, Obiter would like to remind readers that the full details of proceedings are still very much available, in full online, on our dedicated SDT page.
