Registered Charity No: 207477 (England & Wales).
Following the merger of the Royal Ballet Benevolent Fund and the Dance Teachers Benevolent Fund, this charity is now known as the Dance Professionals Fund (the working name of the Royal Ballet Benevolent Fund). The Fund offers support to dancers, dance teachers, choreographers and notators across different dance disciplines.
The new name has been deliberately selected to signpost the all-encompassing support the Fund provides to a variety of people from the dance profession. As the two Funds always have, it will offer compassion and advice alongside practical assistance.
The main objective of the Fund is the relief of financial hardship. One off grants are awarded for example to purchase essential household items. Regular financial payments can be offered on a short term basis, depending on need, for example where income is lessened or stopped for a period of time due to unforeseen circumstances, often unexpected illness. The Fund is equally caring of the younger, and still performing dancer - except that support is more likely to be due to injury.
The fund relies on donor support to meet ever growing demands. Legacies and bequests will enable the Dance Professionals Fund to plan for the future, to make sure that there is always aid available to help those in need. If you would like to discuss leaving a legacy to the Fund, or information on making a Will, please call 01273 234011 to speak to someone who will be glad to give you more information.
