A legacy to the Jubilee Sailing Trust makes the impossible possible

Since 1978, we have been providing life-changing inclusive ocean voyages on our tall ships giving people of mixed abilities and circumstances the freedom to explore their ability, potential and place in the world through inclusive adventures at sea.

At any time in our lives we can all face challenges. Those challenges can result from our own condition or circumstances (impairment, a life changing illness or accident, bereavement etc) or they can be caused by the barriers that society erects (poor accessibility, discrimination, lack of social mobility, economic disadvantage etc). Such challenges often lead to people feeling restricted or trapped and isolated, limiting confidence and self-belief, that can be difficult for them to escape.

On board our ship, we enable everyone who steps aboard the freedom to work together, to collaborate inclusively and support one another, because it is only through teamwork that the ship can sail.

We offer a unique non-discriminatory environment where people are treated as equals. We liberate people from those feelings of restriction and limitation, so that they can explore their full potential and leave their seafaring voyage confidently knowing how much they are really capable of.

We could not provide these life-changing voyages without legacy support. There are many significant expenses involved in keeping the ship safe and seaworthy and providing the level of safety and training that is needed to do what we do.

A legacy left to us has a long-lasting impact that extends into people’s lives long after they’ve arrived home. Gifts help us to keep making the impossible possible, bringing everyone together for a unique voyage of discovery, on equal terms for all.

“I found my smile again. After being stuck at home a lot these past few years for medical reasons, taking this sailing trip has helped me be hopeful again. My life isn’t over. There is a beautiful world out there to see.” Roy
