Registered Charity No: 1142742 (England & Wales).
Langdon is a leading charity that empowers over 100 Jewish adults with learning disabilities to live independently in their local community.
Every day, Langdon members achieve the extraordinary, just by doing the things the rest of us take for granted: living in our own home, holding down a job, going out with friends.
We empower our members to achieve this by providing person centred care that supports them on their individual journey of independence. We run a specialist college in Manchester, and provide supported living accommodation in Manchester, North London and Hertfordshire, where our members are able to live independent lives within thriving Jewish communities. We also provide outreach services in order to reach more people who want to access our services.
Our employment team help our members to secure a job through job searches, CV writing and interview preparation, and continue to support them when they are in work. We also run an online second hand book shop which provides valuable work experience for members, as well as raising money for Langdon.
Langdon organises regular social activities, many based around the Jewish calendar, which provides a unique social network for our members. Langdon’s Brady Club gives Jewish youths aged 12-18 a safe environment in which to have fun and make lasting friendships.
A legacy for Langdon will help more people with learning disabilities to lead extraordinary lives.
