Registered Charity No: 1068841 (England & Wales).
my AFK is a national disability charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families for over 15 years.
Our mission is about creating independence, providing opportunities and offering support to disabled young people and their families. We try to develop the abilities of every disabled young person and we believe that every young person deserves the opportunities to reach their full potential and live as independently as possible.
Each young person is different and we address the needs of each individual child through all or some of our three key areas of work:
- The provision and ongoing maintenance of a wide range of mobility equipment, from walkers and trikes to stand up wheelchairs
- The teaching of vital work skills through our Work Related Learning Services, which improve the future prospects of disabled young people allowing them to gain new experiences, improve their ability to communicate and grow in self confidence.
- Practical training courses, accredited by the Open College Network, which helps disabled young people to acquire life skills and take the first steps towards living independently.
my AFK relies on generous donations from our committed supporters to fund our vital work.
