When I read ‘Dress code dilemmas’, I was reminded of a notice which appeared in the robing room of Bradford County Court many years ago which stated: ‘His Honour has noted that several solicitors are appearing before him without a waistcoat. Solicitors are requested that if they do not wear a waistcoat they should keep their jackets closed while in court’. I wonder if some who now sit on the bench know what a waistcoat looks like?
