A junior secretary at a leading City firm has been barred from the profession for receiving money dishonestly.

According to an SRA notice posted yesterday, Georgia Penton was employed at the London office of international firm Norton Rose Fullbright when she committed misconduct.

Penton was found to have submitted three false cash advance forms and received £558.33 when she knew she was not entitled to such money. Her conduct was found to be dishonest.

The SRA confirmed Penton was dismissed for gross misconduct in March 2016 and her current form of employment is unknown.

She was made subject to a section 43 notice, which applies to individuals involved in a legal practice who are not themselves solicitors.

No solicitor shall employ or remunerate her in connection with a solicitor’s practice, except with SRA permission.
